Zouni: a dish on New Year's Day in Japanese (2006-01-03)

I ate zouni.

zouni

Zouni is New Year's hotchpotch.
Zouni has mochi.
Mochi is glutinous rice jelly.
Japanese people pound steamed rice.

There are several zouni in each local areas.
In my local area, zouni has shouyu (Japanese sauce) soup and mochi.

In this photo, the zouni has rice's form.
This mochi much wasn't pounded.
I like this half-baked mochi.
